Signal and System (SKEE 2073)

This course introduces the students to the different types of signals and networks present in a communication system. Emphasis mainly will be on continuous signal. Signal representation in both the time (Fourier Series) and frequency domain (Fourier and Laplace Transform) will be discussed. The concept of transfer function is introduced and other applications of the Laplace transform such as for the solution of differential equations, and circuit analysis are presented. Finally, the use of Bode plot in filter design will be covered.
